 Dreamcatcher

Book Description
Once upon a time, in the haunted city of Derry (site of the classics It and Insomnia), four boys stood together and did a brave thing. Certainly a good thing, perhaps even a great thing. Something that changed them in ways they could never begin to understand.
Twenty-five years later, the boys are now men with separate lives and separate troubles. But the ties endure. Each hunting season the foursome reunite in the woods of Maine. This year, a stranger stumbles into their camp, disoriented, mumbling something about lights in the sky. His incoherent ravings prove to be disturbingly prescient. Before long, these men will be plunged into a horrifying struggle with a creature from another world. Their only chance of survival is locked in their shared past -- and in the Dreamcatcher.
Stephen King's first full-length novel since Bag of Bones is, more than anything, a story of how men remember, and how they find their courage. Not since The Stand has King crafted a story of such astonishing range -- and never before has he contended so frankly with the heart of darkness.

 On Writing

On Writing gives us an inside look at Mr. King's life; most of it will be familiar to us King fans as Mr. King has incorporated much of his childhood into several of his novels and short stories. He also gives us a frank look into his drug and alcohol addictions and how his wife finally had to do an intervention. He tells us at one point that he doesn't even remember writing Cujo. The second part of the book is about the craft of writing itself. It lets us know what works for Mr. King, gives us advice on how to get started in the business, and editing tips. Finally we hear about an upcoming novel, From A Buick 8, the one he was working on before the accident. He then goes into the details of that eventful day. At the conclusion of this book is a reading list; the best of what he read over a 3 or 4 year period.
This book is a must for any SK fan and also anyone who is curious about the art of writing. It is an honest and frank look into Mr. King's life and the publishing world.

 Stephen King's F13

The gory graphics and creepy sounds are expected from the "master of macabre". This interactive CD-ROM includes the novella Everything's Eventual, previously published in Fantasy Sci-fi magazine. It is superb. It will delight Stephen King fans. It also features 7 different screen savers from the truly creepy to trivia. My favorite one is the evil genius, a caricature of SK in the corner, writing a new book, the main screen features the story with sound effects. Pandora highly recommends this one!

Blood & Smoke

This  audio by Stephen King is only available on audio, so don't look for a book version. It is read by the master himself and he does a really great job of it. 3 stories all dealing with smoking and since it is Stephen King, you gotta have a little blood! This audio is cleverly packaged as a pack of cigarettes right down to the warning label not to listen to in the dark or by yourself!
1408~is about a best-selling author of true ghost stories who faces the ultimate challenge: Spend a night in New York City's most haunted hotelroom--and he must live to write about it. Mr. King gets back to his roots with an old-fashioned spooky story. The voices he does in the haunted room are eerie and will give you chills.

In The Deathroom~This one is about a man who is held captive in South American and discovers smoking isn't always hazardous to your health. In my opinion, the best of the three. Mr. Fletcher, held in the interrogation room by South American 'patriots', must do what he can to escape. He never thought a pack of cigarettes would give him the inspiration to survive.

Lunch at the Gotham Cafe~is about a man going through some intensely painful times--his wife has just left him and he's just quit smoking. He's hoping for a reconciliation, but what happens when he meets his estranged wife and her lawyer for lunch at a cafe in NYC will shock you. This story has been previously published, it's not one of my favorites, but still a shocker!
